A small snapshot of the fun and activities at The Point Physical Culture Club in 2018.

‘Physie’ as we call it is a unique and inspiring dance sport for girls and women of all ages (3–60+). Physie is designed to increase strength, fitness, flexibility and confidence, which is why BJP’s motto is ‘Empowering Girls for Life’. The innovative choreography is designed annually and is age appropriate and designed to teach the relationship of music to movement, rhythm, co-ordination, balance, and musical interpretation.

At The Point Physie, we are passionate about the happiness and health of all our members. We promote an active, healthy lifestyle, where physical activity becomes an enjoyable part of our daily life. We believe that being a part of a Physie family encourages a life-long love of exercise, improved health benefits, confidence and overall happiness.

The Physie syllabus is fun and upbeat, combining the dance styles of jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, aerobics and even yoga. The benefits for young girls and women of all ages includes, increased flexibility and co-ordination, brain development, confidence and teamwork. All members are encouraged to perform as individuals, but also as a sychronised team that’s social and fun, providing the girls with an opportunity to make life-long friends along the way. We encourage grandmothers, mothers and daughters to share this experience at our club.

The Physical Culture year culminates in a series of friendly competitions for both teams and individuals. These are not compulsory, but they do help to foster a club spirit, a sense of belonging, and club loyalty. The National Junior Finals are held at Olympic Park Sports Centre, Homebush Bay. The prestigious Senior and Ladies National Finals are held each November in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. Physical Culture is a marvellous way to develop healthy minds and bodies whilst forming friendships that last a lifetime.
